Located in the very centre of the exhibition, this traditional style Victorian formal rose garden with circular pond was laid out specifically so that visitors can wander back and forth from the other gardens using the six paths that lead to and from this garden. Tulips predominate in spring. There is a fine collection of roses which are at their height in June; but the county series of roses, Rosa 'Kent' and Rosa 'Wiltshire' among them, flower all summer long and well into the autumn – and require the minimum of maintenance. Climbing roses encircle the garden on multi-poles and graceful chains.
The fountain clock which was the central feature in the garden for many years has been replaced by bronze fountain sculptures which are changed from time to time.
